The spectacular sounds of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Principal Conductor, Valery Gergiev, return this summer for another stunning 13-week series hosted by Ruth Drier. Opening the series is a concert featuring Mahler's 5th Symphony and Debussy's Preludes, as arranged by Zender. Mozart's Symphony No. 39 in E-flat, Strauss' Don Quixote, Brahms' Serenade No. 1 in D, Mendelssohn's A Midsummer Night's Dream, Dvorak's Symphony No. 8 in G and Shostakovich's 7th Symphony provide the finishing touches to these exceptional performances. Featured soloists include violinist Vladimir Spivakov highlighting Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D and cellist Pieter Wipelwey, performing in Edouard Lalo's Cello Concerto in d.
