  • Pipeline presenter Iain MacInnes has worked as a producer and presenter with the BBC for 10 years. He learnt his piping from the former Queen's piper Jimmy MacGregor and went on to perform and record with the Scottish folk groups The Tannahill Weavers and Ossian. In 1990 he completed an MLitt thesis at the School of Scottish Studies in Edinburgh, exploring the piping traditions of Scotland in the period 1740 to 1840. Iain's production credits include a spell working on Radio Scotland's flagship folk music programme Travelling Folk, and a series exploring the musical traditions of Hungary, Magyar Zene. In 1999 he released his first solo album of pipe music, Tryst.
