The Mambo Machine is THE longest running salsa show in New York City. Jose "Cheo" Diaz holds the honors, having founded the program in 1971. The show started out as more of a mambo/Latin jazz show, as Monday and Wednesday night already had salsa covered. Since 1971, Cheo has revised his playlists and now plays a whole spectrum of Latin and salsa rhythms, Puerto Rican, Dominican, Cuban, and Afro beats that come from Latin America and New York - combining new and old.
