Johnny Otis has brought a kick to Saturday mornings. With wit, wisdom and a deep love for Rhythm and Blues, the Afro-American artform he helped pioneer, this Vallejo, California born legend is a true national treasure. His legacy as a bandleader, musician, producer, and humanitarian has gained him induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His hits include: With Every Beat of my Heart, Hound Dog, and Willie and the Handjive. Johnny is currently teaching a course at Berkeley';s Black Repertory Theater on the evolution of African-American Music. His latest CD is Rhythm and Blues Swing Dance Party.
