"Spotlight on the Community" is a one-hour weekly public affairs program that focuses on different non-profit agencies throughout our community. Each week, two different organizations are spotlighted (one for each half-hour of the show), and interviewed by retired Community Relations Director Nelkane Benton and KABC Announcer Bob Anderson. One of the main objectives of the show is to inform listeners of the many low-cost and free services that are offered by the organizations featured. Medical issues, homelessness, financial needs, and general family issues are just some of the many topics covered by the program. The show stays topical with current events happening in the community and always stays informative and educational. Emphasis is also put forth on children's issues, as this program is simulcast on AM710/Radio Disney. Our goal is to be informative and entertaining while exposing listeners to the many issues and events that are prevalent in the community.
