Africa has been the focal point of some ground breaking work done by members of UWM's School of Information Studies. Using the internet as their tool Jacques du Plessis and Dick Kawooya are helping to preserve language, music, and culture found in several African countries. Du Plessis is Assistant Professor of Information Studies at UWM and Kawooya is a lecturer in the school.
